Maison perchée

It is a house for a couple with two children. Among the conditions, a limited budget and costly constraints: linear networks and important roads (about 300 meters), individual sanitation because the village does not have a collective sanitation network.

The natural terrain is very inclined, the previous owners had dug the lower part to make a platform with the aim of building a house there, thus creating a ravine. The main assets of the site are at the top of the land, large trees and an exceptional view of the Ource valley, so we came up with the idea of suspending the house on this artificial ravine.

The building nestles in the vegetation of Scots pines between the village of Verpillières-sur-Ource and the Champagne vineyards. The building extends onto a terrace overlooking the void and offering a panoramic view of the landscape.
