Halle de glisse

The project consisted of transforming two indoor tennis courts into a sliding hall and creating an extension to accommodate a social area, changing rooms/toilets, a weight room, an office and a meeting room for the BMX, Roller, Skate de Troyes (BRST) association.

The existing hall has a particular shape as if butterfly wings had been extruded. Despite its construction method and banal materials - metal frame and light grey steel sheeting - its original shape gives it a certain charisma with which it had to be dealt with.

We are adding a half-cylinder to the existing building. The curved shape allows for a panoramic glass façade to be deployed, coupled with a peripheral covered outdoor space with a view of the competition tracks. The façade is crowned by a translucent white polycarbonate strip. Its colour is similar to that of the existing hall but with a depth created by the effects of reflection and transparency.

The adjacent outdoor tracks and the building host international level competitions. The extension's roof becomes a box with a privileged view of the competitions at Racing du Parc Henri Terré.
